Clifton "Dale" Powers Jr.

POWERS, Clifton Jr. "Dale," better known as "Red" to his closest friends, 63, of Richmond, passed away August 10, 2013. He was preceded in death by his mother, Virginia Powers; and daughter, Tina Marie Gibson. A decorated veteran, Dale served in the 101st Airbourne division of the US Army during Vietnam. He enjoyed spending his time volunteering at the McGuire Veteran's Medical Center assisting fellow veterans and spending time with his granddaughter, Kinley. He is survived by his father, Clifton Powers, Sr. (Frances); sisters, Millie Lee Brock (Herman) , Jeanne Reeves (Bill), and Janice Machalski (Eddie); son, Trey Powers; daughter, Michele Hagerman (Brian); granddaughter, Kinley Marie; and granddogs, Eli and Abby. The family will receive friends on Monday, August 12, 2013 from 5 to 8 p.m. at Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 S. Laburnum Ave., Richmond, Va. 23231, where a funeral service will be held on Tuesday, August 13, 2013 at 11 a.m. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery, Richmond, Va.
