Clarence C. Bell, Sr., 90, of Sandston, passed away on Friday, December 15, 2017. He was a U. S. Army veteran of WW II and an avid fisherman. He was an iron molder at Richmond Foundry and retired as a welder at Consumat Systems Inc., Mechanicsville. He was a member of Poplar Springs Baptist Church for 65 years and sang in the church choir for over 30 years. He was preceded in death by his son, Clarence C. Bell, Jr. and a sister, Lucille Bell Hott and is survived by his wife of 68 years, Mildred Bell; five children, Phyllis Look (Neal), Brenda Pence (Roger), Gail Fleming (Ken), Mary Bell and Kathy Dail (Dean); seven grandchildren, Crystal Mundie (Mark), Jennifer Tinnel, Melissa Bell, Teresa Bell, Ashley Bell , Paul Bell (Sarah) and Andrea Jackson (Joel); 11 great-grandchildren; and three brothers, George Henry Bell (Jean), Leonard Bell (Jean) and James Bell. The family will receive friends Monday, Dec. 18, from 2 to 4 p.m. at Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 S. Laburnum Ave., Richmond, VA 23231. A funeral service will be held Tuesday, Dec. 19, at 11 a.m. at Poplar Springs Baptist Church, 5270 Charles City Road, Henrico, VA 23231. Interment will be in Washington Memorial Park. Donations may be made to Poplar Springs Baptist Church.
