IN THE CARE OF
Woody Funeral Home-Parham
With a heavy heart, we sadly announce the passing of a devoted husband, a loving father and a caring friend - Chiman Muchhala. He lived a full and complete life; built a successful professional career and his contributions to his family, his community and his religion are testament to his enduring legacy of love, commitment and devotion. Chimanbhai will be dearly missed by all and is survived by his wife Ushaben.
As a loving family man and loyal friend, Chimanbhai was always willing and ready to provide sage guidance and helpful assistance to all friends and relatives. His dedication to his beloved wife Usha was ever present and ever lasting. Many of the decades long friendships and well settled family clearly attest to the love and support generously provided by Chimanbhai.
In a professional career spanning over half a century, Chimanbhai established himself as an instrumental executive at Dominion Power and an accomplished serial businessman. Over a 40 year career at Dominion, he was consistently chosen to participate and/or lead key initiatives that significantly impacted the company’s growth and development. Chimanbhai played a key contributor role in two major transitions guiding the company away from further involvement in nuclear expansion at its North Anna plant and through a strategic restructuring and right-sizing to address a rapid growth industry environment. Later in his career, Chimanbhai helped build, grow and lead a power trading division that consistently delivered strong revenues and profits. Always soft-spoken, professional in every aspect of his career he was respected and welcome by his colleagues at every level of the organization.
He along with Ushaben built a very successful jewelry business among many other profitable ventures. Chimanbhai had a Golden Touch in anything where he focused his sharp intellect, strong business acumen and detail oriented nature.
As a community leader, Chimanbhai has been a constant and positive presence in the greater Richmond area. His contributions are too numerous to document but extremely generous and impactful to his immediate community, the Indian diaspora in Richmond and all those fortunate to be in his orbit.
The world has lost an incredible man, a generational thinker and a loving and caring soul. May he rest in peace.
