He was preceded in death by his wife, Florence Barlow Lancaster; parents, Fred and Nellie Lancaster; brother, Fred Lancaster; sisters, Margaret, Nellie and Joyce; daughter, Linda Doane; great grandson, Nick Mays and is survived by his daughter, Brenda Gilliam (Ronald); 4 granddaughters; 10 great grandchildren; and numerous great great grandchildren and extended family and friends.
Charlie was an avid outdoorsman, loving hunting and fishing.
The family will receive friends Friday, September 29 from 11 a.m. until service time at 12 p.m. at Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 S. Laburnum Ave., Richmond, Va., 23231. Interment will follow in Oakwood Cemetery.
