I'm sorry to read of Charles' passing. My deepest sympathies go out to his family.
The (original) Walker family (Charlie, Alice, Charles, Debbie & Randy) played an important part in my life growing up on Kenbridge Street. I have so many fond memories of those simpler times. I was closer to Debbie but Charles was still quite a presence, being The Big Brother, in a neighborhood of mostly girls at that time
One memory in particular being Charles was tasked to catch grasshoppers for his dad's fishing hobby.  In a Tom Sawyer move, he showed me how much fun it was to catch them and then promised to  pay me a quarter to catch them for him out in the tall grass behind their house on Kenbridge Street.  We both won in that deal.  (It WAS fun and I would have done it for free - haha!)  

Charles was quite a character but the bottom lie was he was just a big teddy bear with a very kind and generous heart.  Charles was quick with his wallet for any reasonable cause and really helped over decades with PG 007,  We will all miss his unique style of friendship and verbal communication, when he was in a good mood or when he was in a not so good mood, it was generally similar in nature.  My sincere condolences to the family.  He will be missed.  Jimm Mann

So sorry to hear of the passing of my fellow HOKIE and Classmate of '69. I enjoyed our tailgates and golf games at Myrtle Beach. May you rest in peace and we will enjoy the memories!

It was December 31, 1995.  My brother-in-law, Charles, took my sister, Kathy, his sister, Debbie, and me to the Sugar Bowl.  I happen to be from Austin.  We began the day at Brennan’s, and then headed for the game.  The Virginia Tech fans were in their seats early, and it was seriously quiet.  Where were the UT fans— their side of the stadium was empty.  Suddenly, the UT fans came swaggering in at the last minute.  The rest is history—the beginning of a big time for Hokie fans, who have the greatest team spirit and loyalty, Charles among them.  I have always followed the Hokies since.  

Charles and Kathy, you are a great love story.  No two  people could have worked harder for one another or lived your best  for the last 7 years.
