KING, Charles Raymond, 96, of Richmond passed away Aug. 22,2015 and is now awaiting his resurrection at the Lord’s return. Preceded in death by his beloved wife of 66 years, Jackie, he is survived by his 3 sons John (Gaye), Kerry (Martha), Steve (Maureen), 3 grandchildren Brian, Christopher and Morgan, his sisters-in - law Ann King and Sarah Starke, as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews. A decorated World War veteran (a Bronze Star) Mr. King became a deeply religious man as a serving member of the Richmond Christadelphian Hall ecclesia for over 50 years. He also enjoyed playing golf and wood working, crafting furniture in the Williamsburg style. Building upon research begun by his cousin Al Chiles he compiled a complete history of the Chiles family, of which he was a member, back to the 1600’s and distributed copies to grateful family members.
A small graveside service for family members is being planned with a larger celebration to be held with family and friends at the family home in Goochland in a few weeks.
