Osborne, Cecil C. Jr., 76, of Richmond, VA departed this life on Tuesday, March 22, 2016. He was preceded in death by his parents, Neola and Cecil Osborne, his sister, Patricia O. Tyler, first wife, Mable B. Osborne and his late wife, Gerry G. Osborne. He is survived by brothers, Richard E. Osborne, Clyde L.(Butch)Osborne and his loving children, Vanessa O. Arrington(John) and Wayne Osborne(Jan), loving step children, Sherri R. Vickers(Wade), Gary W. Richmond Jr.(Brenda), and Kathy Morris. Grandchildren, David W. Vass Jr., Erica Hope Bohr, Ashley W. Mathews, Brandon S. Osborne, Brittani and Kayla Vickers, Trevor, Amber, Autumn, and Morgan Richmond, Robbie Powell(deceased) and Christina Powell; great grandchildren, Nicholas, Jonathan, and Kaitlyn Vass, Brianna Bates, Brock, Griffin, and Bodie Bohr; and dear friend and companion, Mary Lou Lange. Mr. Osborne served in the United States Air Force as a mechanic. He was retired from Phillip Morris as a Millwright. Cecil was known to many as "The Bassman", a name he proudly answered to amongst his many fishing companions. He loved teaching others the art of fresh water fishing, especially on the James River, but not too quick as to give away all of his so called "honey holes", where the big bass lived! Mr. Osborne will be dearly missed here on earth, but now rests peacefully with his many loved ones gone before him, in the arms of Christ, our Lord and Savior. The family will receive friends on Thursday, March 24 from 2-4pm and 6-8pm at Nelsen Funeral Home Laburnum. A funeral service will take place on Friday, March 25 at 1pm at Nelsen Funeral Home.
