On Tuesday March 16, 2021, Brenda B Lofton, went home to be with the Lord. Brenda was born in Lynchburg, Virginia on July 14, 1963, to the late Royal Dillard Brown and Mildred Virginia Brown. She was the fifth born of five children. Brenda accepted Christ at a very early age and joined Mt. Shiloh Baptist Church and even then she was always excited about the Word of God.
In her early twenties, she moved to Richmond, Virginia, where she met Samuel Lofton and they were united in Holy Matrimony on May 20, 1988. While living in Richmond, she was an active member of the Faith Landmarks Ministries, serving faithfully as a greeter, a member of the audio visual crew, and volunteered for the Reach Out Ministry where she witnessed to the lost.
Brenda was a sweet, loving, and kind person. She was well loved by everyone. Brenda was a giver and had a big heart. She was also a prayer warrior.
She loved entertaining family gatherings during the holidays, gardening and was an excellent cook.
Brenda has left a positive mark in this life and has now “joined the great cloud of witnesses.” She will never be forgotten. She was preceded in death by her father, Royal Dillard Brown and her brother, Roy William Brown.
Brenda leaves behind to cherish her precious memories: her dear mother, Mildred Virginia Brown; her children, Samaria Kay Taylor (Ashton), Gabriel Virginia Vo (Tommy), and Aaron Sun Lofton; her sisters, Althea Parham, Cassandra Hamilton (Anthony), her twin sister, Linda Brown and a loving sister-in law, Patricia Brown Jones; 3 grandsons, Ashton Vincent Taylor, Jr, Dallas Royal Taylor, Noah Jordan Taylor; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
What a legacy, what a life! I invite each of you to keep Brenda alive in your heart. We were all touched by her presence and we are better because of her. Thank you for being here and for making Brenda’s life so meaningful.
The family would like to thank everyone for their acts of kindness during this time. All are appreciated.
Matt 10:38-39 NIV
Whoever does not take up their cross and follow me is not worthy of me. Whoever finds their life will lose it, and whoever loses their life for my sake will find it.
