Bobby Douglas Willis

Bobby Douglas Willis, of Richmond, Virginia departed this life Friday, November 24, 2023. Born in Castlewood, Virginia, April 16, 1935, he was the son of William Cale and Beulah McNeer Willis. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Barbara Turner Willis, brother, Richard Thural Willis and niece, Page Ann Willis. He is survived by his sister-in-law, Mary Ann Willis, nephew, Richard Dean Willis, wife, Robyn, great nephews, Cameron Dorsey Willis and Robert Griffin Willis. Bob was a graduate of Big Creek High School, War, WVA and the University of Richmond where he was an avid and longtime member of the Spider’s Club and a member of Lambda Chi. He received his Master’s Degree from VCU and was a career teacher at Thomas Jefferson High School. He enjoyed playing the banjo, the guitar and listening to music. Burial will be private and at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Richmond’s St. Mary’s Hospital Hospice Program or to an organization of your choice. Family will receive friends at Woody Funeral Home, 1771 North Parham Rd, Richmond, VA 23229 from 3:00pm to 5:00 pm on Tuesday, December 5th.
