Thor, I cannot believe it’s your 30th birthday today. I’m at a loss for words. Time is supposed to heal all wounds but it hasn’t done much in the way of healing my broken soul. I’m grateful for your light that continues to surround me, guiding me through the darkness. I can only hope that you know how much I love you and how much you are missed. Dia de los Muertos 💜❤️💜

Five years gone, Thor. The memory of this day is still raw and painful. My love for you is everlasting and strong and continues to help get me through what’s left of my life here. Grief has no boundaries. I fight with it daily. My only consolation is knowing you no longer have to put up with this world. I’m sorry for what it did to you. It no longer has that power. Your light still shines brightly all around me, Thor. You’re a beautiful light in the darkness of this world. No one can ever hurt you again. Thank you for being you. Four years gone. Sometimes it feels like four days. Other times it feels like forty years. It’s been a difficult path to walk without you Thor, I saw how they not only destroyed your path, but delighted in doing so. This world sucks the life out of me, Thor. It’s a turbulent and miserable place. Your presence made this world brighter but those who thrive in the darkness, overpowered and snuffed out your light. But what the darkness doesn’t know is that your light continues to shine upon all of those who knew the goodness of your heart. And your light will continue to shine through them. ❤️💔❤️

Dang it, Thor! With all the preparation for Dia de los Muertos I completely forgot to post how much I love and miss you on your birthday. But I know you know because we were together. Every year it's a crap shoot as to what the weather will be on your birthday. Well, this year it was rainy. Fortunately it wasn't pouring rain just a constant drizzle. It was cold but not bitter. I think you would have enjoyed the decorations we set up for you. Jessica did a really nice job with that as always. :)  May you always be blessed, Thor. Two years, Thor. You’ve been gone two whole years. Sometimes I feel like you’re the lucky one as we’ve been dealing with the coronavirus pandemic five months after you left. We like to refer it as the Thoronavirus. :) The world is not at all what it used to be. We’re lost without you. But maybe your light can shine upon all of us to help heal are hearts and minds of the chaos that surrounds us. I love you dearly. We love you and miss you. May you continue to do what you do best Thor. 💜💜💜

It’s the 2nd birthday we’ve had to face without you here, Thor. You would have been 26 today. We used to enjoy celebrating your birthday despite we never knew how to plan for it as the weather is so fickle this time of year. It’d been raining for the past 3 days. Today it’s bitter cold and windy. On Thursday it’s supposed to warm up again. But you’re no longer here to celebrate your birthday so now we celebrate Día de Muertos / All Souls’ Day. There was a blue moon two nights ago and it’s still bright for you. Until we are reunited, we love you and miss you more each day, Thor. I will forever be proud to have had you as my son and a kind and loving brother to your sister.  Safe travels Thor, as you continue on your journey of doing what you do best. 💜💜💜

I'll always remember the first conversation we had in 2012 when I was starting at Godwin. I walked to the chorus room after getting my schedule and you were standing at the door and greeted me with a, "Are you in Eagles too? My name's Thor, you're gonna love this class". I remember singing to you on your 18th birthday and dancing to The Lion Sleeps Tonight in our Hawaiian shirts. You were part of the reason that I auditioned for Debut. 

You became friends with my parents when you started as the photographer for the Roughriders, and I loved how you were always so excited about my dad's energy at the games. I'm glad I kept in contact with you over the years and got to endure the awkward graduation parties with you after we had graduated because we didn't know anyone else there. 

You'll always have a piece of my heart, I'm so grateful to have known you and my parents are too.  I hope you're happy and at peace wherever you are <3

Dear Thor,
I don't know where to begin, honestly. I had the true pleasure of meeting you back in late 2014.  We went on a couple dates, but realized we were best as friends which was more than welcome because you were such a good guy.  I'm still fumbling over my words and my thoughts are still at a standstill, but meeting your gentle energetic soul was one of the best things and I pray for your family at this time.  May you rest in eternal paradise. 

I am in such shock to hear of Thor’s passing. Even though we never met in person he was always such a kind young man. It shone through in his emails and calls.  He loved to act and never thought a role too small. This world needs more Thor’s. I will keep all of his family in my prayers.

Thor, I just wanted to say thank you. I know you had a lot going on personally. But your words of encouragement, caring, and enthusiasm was something I'll never forget. I am deeply saddened that I will never get to say hello to you on this Earth. I am saddened that I will not be able to talk Ravens football with you anymore. However, your life had such an impact on your family and the people around you. It certainly has for me and I will miss you deeply. But, I know I'll see you again some day. Rest easy, Thor. To Thor's family,
I believe it was 14 yeays ago that I had Thor in my Reading class at Byrd Middle. He is one of the most memorable students I had in my 41 year career. I especially remember his interaction with the visiting author Christopher Paul Curtis.  Thanks to FB, I have followed his work as a photographer and actor in recent years. I am heartbroken. I want him to still be here, living life, taking photos, smiling. I sure will miss him.

Thor was a kind, compassionate, friendly, loving boyfriend and friend in our relationship. I am very much grieving this loss, as Thor provided so much support in my life. He was truly an angel and a special person. I am saddened by what has happened, and hopeful he is not in pain anymore. This obituary was beautifully written and accurately described how wonderful he was. My heart is sad that I couldn’t reach out more during his difficult times. I’ll always love you, Thor. Fly high. I will never forget you or your contagious energy and spirit.

Thor family, I am so sorry for your loss.  Thor has been a truly amazing person to have known.  So many great memories at ridge with you! Awesome talent and so much confidence. So much kindness. Makes me sad to hear this news. You have left an amazing memory in everyone’s heart. Rest easy Thor.

                        There are so many words to describe the great and caring person Thor was but friendly and charismatic stand out for me. He always made me laugh and never failed to ask how I was doing. This is a tragic loss but someone we all will never forget.   RIP Thor 🙏

I'll never forget teaching Thor.  Very few people have the power to lift the spirits of others with a smile but Thor was special like that.  I remember a kid with sweatpants and ruffled hair strolling into my room with a big smile and always asking me, "What up Mr. K?  How are you doing?"  I loved talking football with Thor and hearing his love and passion for his beloved Baltimore Ravens come through in his voice.  Sometimes we'd see each other at the YMCA years after he had been at Byrd and each time I knew I was in for a good conversation.  Thor was an original in every sense of the word.  I'll miss looking for him at the YMCA.  Rest easy Thor.   

Thor was one of the nicest, and caring students I have ever had in many years of teaching. A true joy to know. I remember when I had cafeteria duty and I would see Thor sitting with others at the lunch tables, and Thor would always cheer someone up with his infectious good-nature and he was always able to bring a smile to a person who seemed sad or alone.  Rest in peace Thor, and know that you will be remembered by many of us for your unwavering humanity.


My days in Consultative Study were made brighter by Thor’s infectious smile, helpful, giving nature and kind words for everyone that crossed his path. He was the first Ravens fan that I met at GHS, and could rock the purple better than anyone.  In my book, Thor was and always will be the most valuable Eagle to grace the halls at GHS. 

Thor.  I will miss you. You had such a good heart. Thank you for treating me with kindness. You will truly be missed. I liked singing Always Look on the Bright Side of Life and You’ll Never Walk Alone with you. Even though I have Down Syndrome you treated me the same.  You really deserved Most Valuable Eagle. Thor was a great guy. He was one of the only guys in my classes who would ask you someone if they were doing okay if they looked sad or upset. He always reached out out no longer how long it had been since you last talked.  Thor cared. Glad to have known him.  

Always wanted to make people smile, had so much energy even at 8 in the morning. You will be missed dearly

You were the definition of a great teammate and a genuine person. I’ll never forget all the free meals I was able to give you at Chick-fil-a because I knew you were working so hard. Your Ravens are doing amazing right now and Lamar Jackson is balling out! I’ll continue to watch them for you.
