Obituary of Amanda Brooke Irby
Amanda Brooke Irby, 15, of Highland Springs passed away on February 5, 2014. Amanda loved the Lord with all of her soul. Her great loves were family and friends. She was deeply passionate about music, fashion, softball, and school. She touched everyone who came to know and love her and was a great friend to all. She had a great sense of humor and a contagious laugh. She was supportive with a beautiful heart and a spirit that will continue to live on for eternity. She loved dogs, the Seattle Seahawks and the New York Yankees. She was so looking forward to driving. She set high expectations for herself wanting to be a counselor with her Master’s degree. Everyone sought her counsel, including mom, because she gave the best advice. She loved her school, teachers, and classes. She was deeply in love with, and made it known how much she loved, her nephews Christopher and Vinny, spending every moment she could with them and they adored her. Amanda shared a bond with and was so close to her sister, Jessica. They enjoyed life together and loved each other immensely. Although their spirits remain alive, here with us all, they are now also enjoying a place like no other…heaven… together, at the foot of Jesus Christ. Amanda was preceded in death by her paternal grandmother, Joann Irby. Amanda was survived by her sister Jessica Nichole Gallmeyer for only a day and is currently survived by her father, George Irby; mother, Lisa Irby and her companion, Rod Grossé; brother, Tim Irby; grandparents, Paul and Diane Chapman from Sandston; great-grandfather Paul L. Chapman; uncle and aunt, Randy and Caren Chapman; cousin, Olivia Chapman; beloved nephews, Christopher and Vinny Garten and a host of other family members and friends.
