A limb has fallen from the family tree.
I keep hearing a voice that says,
“Grieve not for me.
Remember the best times,
the laughter, the song. The good life I lived while I was strong.
Continue my heritage, I’m counting on you.
Keep smiling and surely the sun will shine through.
My mind is at ease, my soul is at rest.
Remembering all, how I truly was blessed.
Continue traditions, no matter how small.
Go on with your life, don’t worry about falls.
I miss you all dearly, so keep up your chin.
Until the day comes we’re together again.”

Mr. Walter Robinson Sr., age 76, of Selma, Alabama passed away on Wednesday, August 10, 2022. Walter was born on March 27, 1946, to Bezell Robinson, Sr., and Daisy Mathews Robinson. He was the ninth of thirteen children.
Walter attended school in the Dallas County Public School district in Selma. He accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized under the leadership of Rev. A. C. Burke, pastor of Cedar Grove Baptist Church.
In 1969, Walter, along with his wife Mattie Mae and their seven children, relocated to California. They settled in Richmond, CA in order to be close to his family who were living there.
Walter worked as a laborer for the Williams and Burrell construction company, where he was often requested for projects because of his dependability, attention to detail, and ability to complete projects ahead of schedule.
Although Walter lived in the city, you could not get the country out of him, with his love of hunting, fishing and even raising chickens. Walter was a faithful member of New Gethsemane COGIC where he was called and ordained into the ministry, under the leadership of Superintendent Rev. Archie Levias.
Walter later founded Victory Temple COGIC in Richmond, CA. He also served as the chaplain at Brookside Hospital for several years and worked with San Quentin's prison outreach programs. Walter leaves to continue his legacy: seven children, eleven grandchildren, three brothers, three sisters, one sister-in-law, one brother-in-law; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
A public viewing for Mr. Robinson will be held Tuesday, August 23, 2022, from 1:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Fuller Funerals, Inc, 3100 Cutting Blvd, Richmond, CA 94804. A homegoing celebration will occur on Wednesday, August 24, 2022, at 10:30 AM at Faith Tabernacle AOH, 3501 McDonald Ave, Richmond, CA.
