Mrs. Gurtha J. McInnis

A visitation for Gurtha will be held Thursday, November 16, 2023 from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Fuller Funerals, Inc., 3100 Cutting Blvd, Richmond, CA 94804. A funeral service will occur Friday, November 17, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Fuller Funerals, Inc.

Gurtha will be laid to rest in Rolling Hills Memorial Park, 4100 Hilltop Dr, Richmond, CA 94803.

Gurtha J. (Rose) McInnis was born on April 12, 1946 in Richmond, CA to Thomas and Jessie Mae Rose.

She accepted Christ at an early age at Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church under the pastoral care of the late Reverend A. H. Newman. She loved attending Bible Study and serving as the Announcement Clerk at Bethlehem.

Gurtha attended school in Richmond, and graduated from Richmond High School. Soon afterwards, she married Billy Overstreet and to that union, four children were born. Years later, Reverend Newman united Gurtha with Curtis McInnis. She then furthered her education at Contra Costa College, where she studied Business Administration, while pursuing her career as a school secretary. After years of enjoying her employment and working with students and educators alike, Gurtha retired.

Gurtha was preceded in death by three sisters; Cutie Bell Rose, Marynell Rose, and Vernell Smith; as well as, four brothers: Thomas Rose, Jr., James Rose, Charles Rose, and Richard Rose.

Left to cherish the memories of Mrs. Gurtha J. Rose McInnis are: her husband, Curtis McInnis; daughters - Ronda McDonald, Tia Overstreet, Adrian Overstreet, and her son, Mark Overstreet. Her sister Christia Bell Vernell; her grandchildren, step-children, beloved son-in-laws; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
