Queenie (as she was affectionately called) was born on April 25, 1940, to Dennis and Lizzie Price in
Arcadia, LA but, raised in Longview, TX. She had eleven siblings.
Always able to express herself well, Queenie possessed strong interpersonal skills. She was optimistic in her outlook on life and was able at all times to be open and direct in her communication. Armed with great wit, Queenie was raised to be accepting of others and to implement a strong personal work ethic.
As a young child, Queenie showed her creative ability in many ways. She was outgoing and animated. Queenie enjoyed new activities and pursued a variety of interests. In her spare time, she liked sewing, drawing, and riding horses.
Queenie was able to utilize these qualities to succeed in high school. Her curious nature was spurred by her ability to maximize her personal learning style by employing a hands-on approach. She was good with facts and had an excellent memory. In addition to, loving to draw, she was able to display some of her art during her high school plays and auditorium.
Queenie was uncomplicated and straightforward in her relationships, which allowed her to accept people for what they were. Later in life, she became friends with Anita Gatewood-Graham.
She was blessed with one child, her daughter, Latricia Noel and also, two grandchildren, Samia and Keyra.
Queenie was a flexible worker who was able to draw the best from others around her. She could multi-task and was endowed with an entrepreneurial spirit, allowing her to think beyond standard norms when it came to resolving issues in her work environment. Her primary occupation was a Custodial Supervisor. She was employed for thirty years in the city of Oakland.
A public viewing for Queenie will be held Tuesday, January 18, 2022, from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Fuller Funerals, 3100 Cutting Blvd, Richmond, CA 94804. A celebration of her life will occur on Wednesday, January 19, 2022, at 11:00 AM at Fuller Funerals.
