A few years after Charles’ birth, his family moved to East Palo Alto, CA. His formal education began in the local school district and ended at Ravenswood High School.
Charles was a jack-of-all trades. He could build and repair almost, any and everything. He loved to cook for his family, and did not mind, waking up before everyone else, to make sure the house woke up to the smell of biscuits and potatoes.
Charles had a jovial personality and knew how to light up a room. No matter where he went, he had to be the loudest person there with a laugh you could hear a mile away.
Preceding him in death are his parents: Erma Darden and Robert Darden, and a brother, Darnell Woods.
Charles is survived by his four siblings; Carolyn Morris, Zeb Woods, Janice Hill, and David Woods. His children: Tanesha Darden, Roberto Clark, Charles Darden, Jr., Ashley Darden, Jeremiah Darden, and a host of nieces, nephews, and grandchildren. He will be truly missed.
Family and friends of Mr. Darden are invited to share their messages of condolence and memories with him, as well as, light a virtual memory candle on our website, prior to his services which will be held, as follows:

When I come to the end of my journey
And I travel my last weary mile, just forget if you can, that I ever frowned and remember only the smile.
Forget unkind words I have spoken; remember some good I have done, forget that I ever had heartache
And remember I've had loads of fun.
Forget that I've stumbled and blundered and sometimes fell by the way.
Remember I have fought some hard battles and won, ere the close of the day, then forget to grieve for my going, I would not have you sad for a day,
But in summer just gather some flowers and remember the place where I lay,
And come in the shade of evening when the sun paint the sky in the west
Stand for a few moments beside me and remember only my best.
