Remembering Our Beloved Ada Mae Minor
To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven: A time to be born... Ecclesiastes 3:1, 2
On August 7, 1946, in Edwards, MS, it was a beautiful day and a joyous occasion for Mr. Walter Minor and his beautiful wife Mrs. Alice Minor when they welcomed into this world a beautiful little girl, Ada Mae Minor. Ada was the sister to Ruby, Mildred, Herman, Junior and Eliza, who preceded her in death.
A Season to Grow
It was at an early age, that Ada accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior, united with New Gethsemane Church Of God In Christ in Richmond, CA and was baptized as a public confession of faith in Christ by Pastor Archie L. Levias.
Ada received her formal education in the Edward School District and graduated from Temple High School in Maywood, IL. Following graduation, Ada spread her wings to see the world in her life's journey. Along her journey, she met and married Mr. Houston Williams on March 14, 1964; and they were blessed with two children, Herman and Patricia. Ada would later be blessed with another son, Alasan Green.
From her 40 plus years of employment, Ada served in many capacities as an In-Home Care Provider, Information & Referral Clerk, Assistant Youth Coordinator, Personnel Supervisor and Counselor.
Ada loved life, family and most of all her belief in God.
A Time to Die
My journey is completed now. The tide is drifting in. My vessel moves on gentle waves... Eternity begins.
On January 6, 2024, our beloved Ada Mae Minor answered her Savior's Call and crossed over to "The Other Shore."
Ada leaves behind to cherish her memory her children: Herman Williams, Patricia Williams, and Alasan Green; grandchildren- Christopher, Nia, Christian, Jasmine, Yasmine, Anthony, Mercedes, Algere and Junior; one great-grandson Kamari; siblings- Horace and Catherine; and a host of family and friends.
