The earth sent an angel to Heaven on Wednesday, April 16, 2014. Warren “Tam” Wasson, 55, of Murphy, Texas, suffered a major heart attack and his heart could not withstand the onslaught of procedures the doctors had to use to try to save his life. Tam left this world too soon.
Tam was born in Baltimore, Maryland to Warren Arthur Wasson and Patricia Joines Wasson on October, 14, 1958. He is preceded in death by his father, Warren Wasson. Left to cherish his memory is his wife: Lisa Wasson; sons: Scott Talley, Brian Talley, Gregg Talley, and Peter Talley; mother: Patricia Wasson; sister & brother-in-law: Laura & Evan Edenstrom; brother: Barry Wasson; father & mother-in-law: Don & Joni Kern; sister-in-law: Sharri Evenson; brother-in-law: Kerry Weekes & wife Jenell; and grandmother: Gussie Joines.
After attending the University of North Texas, Tam entered the family business as a Philatelist and has owned Tam's Stamp Gallery for the last 17 years.
As one of the nation’s elite bowlers, Tam held USBC records for sactioned 300 games (125) and 800 series (123). He was elected to the Dallas Hall of Fame, as well as the Red River Hall of Fame.
Over the years, Tam bowled with many different teammates and no one will ever forget the level of intensity and pride Tam took in his bowling, as well as his friendships.
As of late, Tam had a great passion for playing slots in the casino and everyone refers to his “lucky horseshoe”, both in bowling and gambling.
Tam chose to become part of a large family in October of 2000 when he married Lisa. He demonstrated the same enthusiasm toward his family, Lisa and her four sons: Scott, Brian, Gregg and Peter, as he did in his bowling career. It was a match both sides ended up winning, and we will love and keep you in our hearts forever.
Rest in peace Tam, “Mr. 800”.
