Rossi was born in Dallas on October 23, 1962, to Monna Ruth Felix and Frank Felix. He graduated from Hillcrest High School in 1981 and received a degree in Business from Austin College in Sherman, Texas in 1986. He married Kristen Felix on June 7, 1997.
Rossi had a long career in healthcare finance, or, as his kids used to put it, “My daddy sells money.” He was most recently the Managing Director for CNH Finance.
Rossi was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Richardson. He proudly played on the 1981 Austin College National Championship football team, was named to the All-American NAIA first team in 1984, and was inducted into the AC Athletic Hall of Fame in 1997. He built lifetime bonds with friends as far back as elementary school, and with his football and Phi Sigma Alpha fraternity brothers. Rossi was passionate about making people laugh, fixing up his ‘57 Chevy pickup, and caring for his tropical fish. He may have looked intimidating, especially to his daughters’ boyfriends, but was as gentle and tender-hearted as a person can be. Rossi was happiest and most at peace at the lake jet-skiing, fishing and hunting with Will, watching “his” hummingbirds, enjoying sunsets, and sitting around the fire with his family.
Rossi loved his family fiercely. He is survived by his wife, Kristen; his daughters, Laura, Livia, and Tess; his son, Will; his mother, Monna; and his sisters Gina, India, and Fiamma. He was predeceased by his father, Frank.
Rossi’s memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, September 9th at First United Methodist Church of Richardson.
Memories and condolences may be shared below. Flowers are appreciated and may be sent to the First United Methodist Church of Richardson. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Austin College Athletics Department in Rossi’s memory at the link provided below.
