Ronald C Sills

Ronald Cosby Sills was born September 27, 1935 to Cosby Curry Sills and Daisy Brown Sills in Atlanta, GA. He attended Atlanta schools and was voted "Most Likely to Succeed" his senior year at O'Keefe High School. He then attended GA Southern State University where he earned his Associates Degree and began his career in the insurance industry with Georgia Life Insurance Company.

He married Joyce Edwards Sills in 1955 and began his family. He also served in the Air National Guard at Dobbins Air Force Base in Marietta, GA.

In 1966 he was recruited by Great Commonwealth Life Insurance Company in Dallas, TX. He moved his family there that same year and continued his career as an executive in the insurance industry. Upon his retirement in 1994, he fulfilled his lifelong dream of living on the ocean by moving to Daytona Beach, FL where he spent the rest of his life until passing August 27, 2022.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Joyce Sills in 1992, wife Barbara Tracy- Sills in 2019 and son, Tod Sills in 2021.

He is survived by daughter, Valli Wright (Russell), son Keith Sills (Jean), daughter, Lee Ann Hampton (David), daughter-in-law Janis Sills, grandchildren Blake Sills (Leanne), Rachel Edwards (Chris), Bryan Sills, Brent Sills (Sarah), Joshua Sills and Jacob Sills along with five great-grandchildren.

Service will be held Saturday, October 22, 2022 at Sparkman Funeral Home, 1029 S. Greenville Avenue, Richardson, TX 75081 at 11:00 A.M. Reception immediately following service. In lieu of flowers, gifts to your chosen charity are highly appreciated.
