Born January 5, 1920 in Waco, TX and passed away on August 6, 2012 at the age of 92. He retired from Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas. Richard served in the U.S. Army Air Force and was a WWII veteran who flew with the “Flying Tigers” in the China Theater. He was a member of the Walnut Hill United Methodist Church and was preceded in death by his wife of over 60 years, Kathryn Smith. An open visitation will be held on Wednesday from 2:00pm until 7:00pm for those wishing to pay their final respects. Visitation with friends and family will be held at Sparkman Funeral Home on Thursday, August 9th at 9:00 am with funeral service to follow in the chapel. Richard Maddox will be buried at DFW Nation Cemetery with military honors on August 9th at 1:00pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to:
