Randi was born May 30th, 1981 in Abilene, Texas to parents Dixie Hodges Haggard and Charles Haggard and sister to Katie Haggard. Randi grew up in Sweetwater and Snyder Texas before relocating to the metroplex.
Randi married the love of her life Richard Busby on November 8, 2008, and gained two daughters in Zoey and Lindsay Busby.
She is survived by her husband, parents, sister, daughters, and numerous aunts and cousins. She was preceded in death by her sister Whitney Leigh Haggard.
Randi earned an Associate’s degree from Western Texas College and a Bachelors in BBA Management from the University of Texas Permian Basin.
Randi held several jobs before her path led her to Hilton. She was with Hilton for more than 17 years, spending her time in Hilton Reservations & Customer Care (HRCC) and Learning and Development. While at Hilton, she was an agent, Development Coach, Trainer, Manager, and Senior Manager. She has either trained or oversaw the training of thousands of HRCC Team members, many who she also mentored and developed as they grew their careers. She also visited many of their vendor partner sites to provide training support or share her functional expertise including: Manila & Legazpi Philippines, Bulgaria, Glasgow, El Salvador, and more. The tributes to Randi have come from all over the world, from coworkers, clients, business partners, hotel staff, and more.
At her heart, Randi was a teacher. She was the champion of every new team member and new leader, creating a first experience for new team members that was the epitome of hospitality. This is why she was perfect for Hilton. Randi either trained or oversaw the training of almost every new hire in the department for the past 10+ years and every new leader as well. The number of people she mentored is too great to count but almost anyone who talks about Randi, mentions how she helped them over the years. Even as she was a student herself, working on her degree, Randi continued to lead her team and go above and beyond for the people who relied on her. She was so proud of her accomplishments. Randi was generous with her time. She never said no if it was to help someone else. This was often at her own sacrifice, but she was energized most when she was doing for others.
Randi found a way to inject humor, sly wit and to bring a sense of fun where she could. Randi's radiant personality brightened every room. Her unwavering loyalty as a friend and confidant made her a treasured presence. Randi never met a stranger and if she did, before long they became a lifelong friend.
She won awards, did the things, put in the work, but that's not what everyone will miss. We'll miss her laugh, her kind heart, her generosity, her deep friendship, her fiery spirit, and her love. She made everyone feel important, she invested in you, gave of herself so you could go, and do and be better. And she did it asking for nothing in return.
Services for Randi will be held on Saturday, August 17, 2024, at 11 am at Sparkman Funeral Home in Richardson, Texas. Graveside to follow at 3:30 pm at Evergreen Cemetery in Ranger, Texas.
Randi was an advocate for women’s issues, animals, and the underserved. A donation to one of those causes in lieu of flowers is also greatly appreciated.
