A loving father, a wonderful son, grandson, and brother, Mark departed this life on 09/27/2021 due to the ravaging effects of COVID-19. Although only 37 at the time of his death, Mark affected many people in his lifetime.
Born in Dallas TX on 05/21/1984, Mark was the third and youngest child of Susan and Tom Moore. Mark was a delightful child who was always full of talk, loved to do all the usual boy things, and could always bring a smile to your face.
As a young boy, he had a huge fascination with rock collecting. To this very day, his grandfather can recall how Mark took rocks with him everywhere so he could share them and his knowledge about them with others.
At the young age of 10, Mark discovered his true love of music and his God-given talent for drumming when he joined the Music Learning Program at St. Patrick School. He started on a simple snare drum but advanced to a full kit within his first year of instruction. Mark participated in all advanced band groups and consistently won the award for the Most Outstanding Band Member each year. While attending Bishop Lynch High School, Mark continued to be a standout in Band and had the honor of being selected to play the quints in Marching Band from freshman through senior year.
After high school, Mark continued to develop his drumming skills by playing with various local bands in Deep Ellum and other venues in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex. While in college, Mark secured a certificate in Audio Engineering. He continued to study various artists and built a huge network of music friends and performing artists from around the world. He built a large collection of music over the years and he possessed an amazing knowledge of all aspects of the music world.
In 2007 and 2011, Mark's greatest loves came into his life with the birth of his two daughters, Madelyn and Stella. A truly proud Daddy, he shared with everyone he met the joy his girls brought to his life. Madelyn and Stella became his entire world and he dedicated himself to them. Mark took his job as a parent very seriously and was well on his way to rearing two beautiful and responsible young women. Even though only 9 and 13 years of age at the time of Mark's passing, both girls already shared their daddy's great love of music. Mark's dream going forward is that both girls pursue their natural musical talents to the fullest.
Mark had a BIG and GENEROUS HEART and always wanted to help those with bigger needs than his own -- whether by being a good listener, by supporting someone who was emotionally frail, by offering advice, or sometimes by helping financially if possible. On many occasions, Mark was known to empty his pockets to help a stranger in dire need. He truly believed and lived out the principle that "when you pay things forward" to care for your fellow man, good things and blessings always come back to you in return.
Mark had so much planned going forward for his girls and for his own music career and it is truly sad that he was taken from this life at such an early age. Mark truly made this world a better place in which to live during his short life. He will forever be loved and greatly missed by all, but especially by: his daughters, Madelyn and Stella Moore; his parents, Susan and Thomas Moore; his brother, Kevin Moore; his sister and brother-in-law, Christine and Jon Erdeljac; his grandfather, Bill Briggs; and a multitude of aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, and co-workers.
One of Mark’s last wishes was expressed on a social media post. In it he stated, “…(I) hope everybody makes good decisions to be as safe as possible for you, your loved ones, and strangers. Please make good, healthy, and smart decisions, even if they are out of your comfort zone.” Please help fight against the scourge of COVID-19; it is a reality.
