Marjorie Blessing Anderson was born on April 1, 1923 in Robstown, Texas to Teet Dudley and Frances Blessing. As a young girl and only child, she moved with her mother to San Antonio and then later to Dallas, where she attended Adamson High School, graduating in 1941. Margie was popular in high school where she was voted "Best All Around" by her classmates and was the Pep Captain and Majorette in the band. After high school, she attended University of Texas, but when WWII started, she left and went to work as a draftsman at North American Aircraft. It was there that she met and fell in love with her boss, Robert S. Anderson. In 1945 they married in Dallas and moved to California for Bob's job.
Margie worked as a model for a fashion designer for several years in Los Angeles. They returned to Dallas to start a family and Bob went to work for Temco Aircraft. They welcomed a daughter, Patti, in 1951 and a son, Bobby, in 1953.
Margie and Bob were early members of Lovers Lane Methodist Church where they acquired many lifelong friends over the years. Margie was very active and involved in many clubs and organizations, including Bible studies, Sunday School, the Caprice Civic Club, garden clubs, and bridge clubs. She was an avid bridge player and played into her 90's. She and Bob had so many friends throughout their lives and they especially enjoyed entertaining these friends in their home, where she was quite the hostess. They loved to dance, bowl, travel to New Mexico and Colorado with family and friends. She worked part-time at the Dallas Apparel Mart for many years and cherished wonderful friendships made during that time as well.
Marge lived a very busy and full life, but she would tell you that her greatest love and accomplishment in life was her family. Her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren were her greatest joy and she was a loving, supportive and fun mom and Grammy!
Marjorie is preceded in death by her husband, Robert S. Anderson. She is survived by her daughter, Patricia Richardson and husband Randy of Houston, her son, Robert Anderson Jr. and wife Diana of Argyle, Grandchildren Eric Anderson, Lindsay Larson, Allie Wayman, Bryan Richardson, Mark Richardson and 8 great grandchildren, all of whom she adored.
Margie spent years caring for her beloved husband, Bob, in his lengthy battle with Alzheimer's disease. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Alzheimer's Association in his name, Robert S. Anderson.
