Marion D. "Huck" Huckabee

Mr. Marion D. “Huck” Huckabee, 87, of Mesquite passed away on Sunday, July 27, 2014, at Dallas Regional Medical Center in Mesquite. He will always be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend to all that knew and loved him.

He was born in Shreveport, LA on February 3, 1927 to the late Arthur and Ruth Huckabee. He spent most of his working life as an automotive technician, retiring from Prestige Ford in the early 1990’s. During his life and after retirement, he enjoyed designing and completing various projects or making repairs to just about anything that was broken. He was known for teaching, everything from fixing a car to building a shelf. He was an avid fisherman and loved to travel.

He will be fondly remembered by his wife Doris and son Ron; daughter Rhonda and husband Rick Walls; daughter Kelly and husband Steve Hanzelka; daughter Rebecca Metcalf; and grandchildren Garrett and Alyssa Walls. He is also survived by his brother Thomas and sisters Doris Lazaros, Patsy Fullenwider, Mary Lee Jones and Nancy Adams Eatman, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by sisters Betty Nichols and Ruth Ann Parish and brother Billy Ray.
