Marilyn M. Comer

As a wife, she was married to her husband Jerry for over sixty-three years. They were fortunate to be able to travel, visiting many places in the Americas, Europe, and Asia. She was especially fond of the many cruises they took.

Marilyn was a mother to three: two infants – a girl, Lora Lee, and a boy, Robert, and an older girl Dawn Elizabeth (“Liz”); she was the loving mom Liz had never had. These three and their children were the center of her life to the end.

Lora Lee is married to Graham McCullough, children: Krisa and Maurin. Maurin McCullough is married to Thibault Drogba. Robert's wife is Gina; children are Shaina, Sierra, and Sayla. Shaina is married to Chris Shannon; children: Sophia and Mattaniah. Sierra is married to Patrick Fabrizio. Sayla's husband is Terry Benites; children: Leiana and Lionel. Liz is married to Greg Finney; her children are Jessika Green and Katlin Stewart. Jessika's husband is Ben; they have a son Parker.

Marilyn graduated from Queen's College in Charlotte, NC, with a degree in Elementary Education. She taught second, fourth, and sixth grades, but her passion was preschool. She worked with the two and three year olds for many years and was a “legend in her time”. Her loving influence is best shown by parents who had a child in her class and scheduled the birth of their next baby to be in the right time slot for Marilyn to be their teacher.
