LeRoy Cook was born on February 14, 1932, in Ft. Worth, Texas to Paulina and Henry Cook. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, three sisters, and additional family members. He is survived by his sister, Leola Thompson, two daughters, Nicki Cook and Jennifer Raiford, son, Kevin Cook, four grandchildren Brad Cook, Amber Doris-Cook, Tabitha and husband Anthony Marko, and Braiden Jones, two great-grandchildren Cade Krueger and Cameron Marko, along with many other cousins, nieces and nephews.
LeRoy graduated from Fort Worth Polytechnic High School and served in the Air Force before he earned an Associate’s degree at Arlington State University in Science, Bachelors of Science in Electrical Engineering at Texas Tech University, and a Master’s of Science degree at SMU in Electrical Engineering. He worked for Texas Instruments before going to E-Systems where he retired. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Saginaw for the last several years, a deacon at Park Cities for many years prior to that, and a deacon at First Baptist Church of Richardson, Texas prior to that.
He was heavily active in what he would call his “business meetings”, which were actually bridge games with his friends before moving to Saginaw, Texas. He loved his sports such as college football, pro football, men’s and women’s basketball, along with many more. He loved to play dominos, such as fives and 42, with family and friends, and his favorite go-to snack for those days was onion dip, Fritos, and Pepsi. He was a huge Texas Tech fan and would never let anyone forget. Go Raiders!
