Jessie Willard Hogan was born May 19, 1922 to Janie Velinda Seal Hogan and Daniel Esco Hogan in Doyle, Louisiana. He enlisted in the Army on January 4, 1941. He was assigned to the 105th AAA AW BN Battery D and sent to Camp Hulen, Texas, near Palacios, Texas. He served four and one-half years in World War II, in Europe. He was discharged on June 25, 1945.
Jessie returned to Louisiana where he met and married Pheraby Ann Jenkins (Ann) on June 10, 1946. Jessie and Ann had two children, Peggy and Yvonne. Jessie was preceded in death by his wife Ann and daughter Peggy.
Jessie is survived by his second wife Helen Jean Holland Hogan, and daughter Yvonne Hyatt, and son-in-law Lou Hyatt.
Peggy was preceded in death by husband Tom Burch. She is survived by daughter Shannon and her husband Paul, daughters Jennifer and Patricia, grandsons Demitri and Sebron, and granddaughter Aishwarya .
Yvonne and Lou Hyatt have three children between them, Deborah, Joshua and Jessica. They have one grandson, Chase, and three granddaughters: Annabel, Rayah, and Kaelyn.
Jessie retired from NASA in 1975. He worked at Johnson Space Center where he was a metal model maker.
Jessie was a deacon for many years in the Baptist church. He was active in the Masonic Lodge, Eastern Star, and Scottish Rite.
