James Dewitt McClinton, 85, of Richardson, Texas, went home to be with his Lord on Sunday, November 17, 2019. He was born in Dallas, Texas on October 18, 1934. He graduated from Adamson High School in Dallas, Texas and after graduation attended East Texas State University in Commerce, Texas and the University of Texas in Austin, Texas. He married Catharine Rose Blankenship on December 25, 1955. They had four children David Lee, Catharine Gale, Cheryl Ann and Susan Marie. It was later that he met Doris Marie Hill and they were married in February of 1982.
Jim worked as a draftsman for Raytheon in Garland for 36 years. He was a member of Rodgers Baptist Church in Garland, Texas for many years. He enjoyed golfing and photography.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Doris Marie McClinton; his mother, Eunice Frances Green; his father, Harry Hall McClinton; his son, David Lee McClinton and grandson, Jason Villanueva.
He is survived by daughters, Gale McNeely, and husband Terry; Cheryl James, and husband Russell; and Susan Merrell. Grandchildren, Paul McClinton, and wife, Stephanie; Jared McNeely, and wife Stefanie; Cassie Connett, and husband, Jack; Jennifer Cooley, and husband, Andrew; Angela Stout, and husband, Jeremy; April James; Emily LeMaster, and husband, Jason; Sarah Brenner, and husband, Daniel; Christopher Merrell, and twelve great-grandchildren. Doris’s children include, Rick Villanueva, Mark Villanueva, Steve Villanueva and Barbara Tooley and husband, Don, and grandchildren, Elena Villanueva, Alex Villanueva and Vince Villanueva.
Visitation is at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, November 25 at Sparkman Funeral Home in Richardson, Texas and the funeral service is immediately following at 11:00 a.m, Officiated by Pastor Ron Thomas. Interment immediately following the service at Restland Memorial Park in Dallas.
