He graduated from Oak Lawn Community High School in 1957 and enlisted in the United States Navy. Following his military service, Gary was employed as a machine operator at Owens Illinois where he met Diana Pappas. He landed a position with the Bendix Corporation in Kansas City, MO in 1962. Gary married Diana on September 1, 1962. During his 32 years with the corporation, Gary attended junior college and earned his associate degree in business. After retiring from the corporation in 1994, he resumed his education and earned a B.S. in accounting from the University of Missouri at Kansas City which he used in tax preparation activities. Gary was a member of the Dallas Chapter 20 of the American Hellenic Educational Progressive Association (Order of AHEPA).
Gary is preceded in death by his parents and his older brother Gayle. He is survived by his wife of 61 years Diana; brothers John and James Gaskill; his daughter Shari and son-in-law Salvadore Campise and his son Alonzo and daughter-in-law Lori; grandchildren Anthony Campise (Laura); Elizabeth Campise Lenkiewicz (Corey); Rachael Gaskill Lopez; Gary (Megan); J. Keaten; Jared; and Kathryn Gaskill; great-grandchildren Xander, Oakley Lopez, and Levi Gaskill.
A Trisagion Service will be held Sunday, March 10, at 6:00 pm in Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, 13555 Hillcrest Road, Dallas, Texas, 75240. Funeral Services will be on Monday, March 11 at 10:00 am at Church, followed by a burial in Restland Memorial Park, Orthodox Christian Gardens.
