Elmer D. Koehler

Born in Huntington, WV on January 3, 1936, he was a Mason for over 50 years with the AC Garrett Masonic Lodge. He was Regional Sales Director for two life insurance companies, the latter being Gulf Atlantic Life, which was eventually moved to California. During his insurance career, he was a member of the Dallas Police Reserve Unit. In 1993, he went full time with DPD as a Public Service Officer and retired July of 2002, during which time he received over 25 commendations.

Elmer is preceded in death by his parents, Kathleen and C.B. Koehler; and brother, Kenneth W. Koehler. He is survived by life-long friends, Paul and Tammy Ellzey, James Covey, and Brian Bailey.

Visitation will be Monday, October 12, 2015 from 10-10:30 AM at Sparkman Richardson Funeral Home, with a graveside service to follow at 11 AM at Restland Cemetery.
