Debbie was born on March 7, 1962, in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, the daughter of Bob and Earlene Hillard. Debbie graduated from Newton-Conover High School. Debbie's parents divorced, and she lived with her paternal grandparents Howard and Helen Hillard in Salisbury. She then left North Carolina for the Dallas metroplex to live with her mother.
Debbie began dating telecom software engineer Brian Koller in 1989, and they married two years later. Though they had no children, they cherished their two cats, Ralph and Ruth. Debbie supported Brian's 2001 decision to become a rare coin cataloger for Heritage auctions.
Debbie was a loyal, honest, innocent, and non-judgmental person who charmed everyone she met. She enjoyed many years of sleeping late, shopping for groceries, dining out with her husband, exchanging long distance phone calls with friends and relatives, watching her favorite shows on television, and taking care of her nearby mother, who has survived her, along with Debbie's younger brother Tim Hillard of San Diego, mother-in-law Mary Bangs of Columbia, South Carolina, and best friend Teresa Ballard of Tallahassee, Florida. Debbie was predeceased by her father, Bob Hillard.
A memorial service will be held at 2 PM on Monday, August 28, at Sparkman Funeral Home in Richardson, followed by a graveside service
