Carol D Davis Rice

Carol Esther (Davis) Rice, age 86 of Allen, TX passed away December 23, 2015. She was born on March 27, 1929 in Binghamton, NY to Laurel Vernon and Gladys Faye (Westlake) Davis. As an adult, she lived with her family in numerous locations around the U.S. and worked as a medical transcriptionist. In her later years, she also worked for Gospel for Asia, a ministry in Carrollton, Texas, where she typed letters about the accomplishments of native-born missionaries to encourage sponsorships. Carol was a loving, generous, devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who lived simply and put relationships before possessions. She loved anything colorful or with polka-dots, puzzles with happy (and easy) pictures, and peanut butter. Carol enjoyed her eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren, and she passed down her strong Christian heritage to her family. She was pre-deceased by her sister Ardelle (Davis) Pierson of Estill, South Carolina. She is survived by her eldest son, Bill Rice and wife Victoria, of Allen, TX, her daughter, Trish Thompson and husband Dave of Pollock Pines, CA, and her youngest son, David Rice and husband Aaron Hughes of San Francisco, CA. We miss her greatly, but our loss is her gain. We know she is with her Lord Jesus.
