Franklin “Frank” A. Kramer, age 88, died Thursday, May 22, 2014 at home surrounded by his loving family by his side. He was born July 28, 1925 to Franklin and Helen (Middendorf) Kramer in Menominee, Michigan. Frank was drafted in the US Army serving during WWII (1943-1945) in the Battle of the Bulge. He also was in the National Guard for 10 years. Frank worked for the Rhinelander Telephone Company for 40 years. He married the love of his life Laura Miller on October 27, 1951.
Frank was on the Stella Town board for 10 years and chairman for 10 years.
He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying berry picking, gardening and spending time at the cottage with family.
Frank is survived by his wife, Laura, his children; John (Vicki), Marcia (Robert) Murray, Teresa (Richard) Grobe, Mathew, Mark (SüKran), MaryKay (John) McIlquham, and Luke (Kathleen), eleven grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and a brother, Norbert.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Bernard and two sisters, Mary Brenger and Helen Pence.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday, May 27, 2014 at 2:00 pm at Nativity of Our Lord – St. Mary’s Church Father Tom Thakadipuram officiating. Burial will follow at Nativity of Our Lord Cemetery with Military Honors. Visitation will be from 12:00 pm until the time of service.
