Her earlier years were not without struggle. She grew up in Arkansas under adverse conditions but never let that stopped her from loving, protecting and wanting the best for her children. She promised to get them all from Arkansas and never stopped until she accomplished that goal. She was proud of every last one of her children and protected them like a mother hen protecting her chicks.
Among all of her God given talents, she also learned the trade of upholstery and furniture reconditioning. She was very gifted with her hands and imagination. Her kids longed for a shopping trip to the clothing or toy store because she was a mother of many gifts. She once made sandals out of corn stalks and dolls out of common house items, just to name a few. Being a God given caretaker has always been in her nature, she spent two years being a nursing assistant. For the next 30 years she ran what seemed to be a world class daycare center for all of her children and many others. If all of the children were counted it might even be over 300! She was not just a mother to her children but mom to many.
She was a woman of faith, courage and love. She loved God with a passion and believed in God. She prayed all the time and taught her children how to pray and look to God for strength in everything. She always made sure that her children went to church every Sunday.
