SFC Walter “Lee” Brazelton, USA, Retired, born On June 4th, 1937, in Detroit Michigan. The Only Child of Walter H. Brazelton & Frances Brazelton (Skimutis). Walter joined the Military at 18 and made his way to Germany where he met Hildegard and they married in January 1959. As an Army family, their duty stations were places all around the world including Germany, France, Okinawa, and the USA. The family always traveled with Walter as his assignments changed, except for his time in Thailand and other undisclosed S.E. Asian countries when he was assigned to the Special Forces Detachments. Lee proudly served his Country for 21 Years, 1 month, and 1 day before retiring from the Army as Platoon Sergeant of the 1st MP Detachment 1st Infantry Division FWD at Cooke Barracks, Göppingen, Germany.
It was then that the family left Germany to settle in the Seattle, WA area and Lee began his second career with The Boeing Co. where he worked for an additional 24 years. Upon his second retirement, Lee & Hilde continued to travel, including countless visits back “Home” to Germany, as well as Hawaii, Springfield, Branson, and everywhere else imaginable throughout the USA in their Motorhome. Lee cherished his Army Service, the relationships, experiences, and brotherhood above just about all else, you’d be hard-pressed to find a more Dedicated Soldier with greater pride or honor of service. Among others, His wife, Hilde Brazelton (Zirngibl) & Daughter, Judy “Jutta” Robinson welcomed him to Heaven in the early morning of August 24th.
Lee is survived by his Children, Charlene Frances Rockwell, Pauline Frances Brazelton – Maggard (Steve), and Walter Lee Brazelton III. Grandchildren, Scott Tureskis, Christopher Robinson, Monica Murphy, Patrick Murphy, Mallory Murphy, Kristina Maggard – Andrade (Juan), Alexander Maggard, Nicholas Brazelton (Amanda), Amanda Crook (Colby). Great Grandchildren, Taylor, Sara, Jaxson & Hunter Tureskis. Malachi and Dakota Murphy. Nathaniel Cripe. Heladia, Joshua, Jose & Daniel Andrade. Ava, Lincoln & Zachary Brazelton. Braxton, Kora & Adelaide Crook. Siblings, Juanita Petty, Kathleen Hood (Josh), Carole King & Many additional Loved ones both Stateside and Abroad will miss him dearly.
