With Profound sadness, we announce the passing of our beautiful, sweet sister Tauava’efiatamali’i(Va’e)Tautua Tufugafale. Va’e went to her eternal home to be with Our Heavenly Father on Saturday, September 18, 2021 at 11:10 am, twelve days shy of her 54th birthday.
She was born on September 30, 1967 in American Samoa to Pa’u Tautua and Leua Keni Satele of the Village of Fagasa. Va’e was raised the first 7 years of her life by our paternal grandparents in Hawaii. She named her only daughter after our grandmother in honor of her memory. Va’e was the 5th of 9 children of 5 girls and 4 boys and the spitting image of our Beloved mother. She attended Le’atele Elementary School, graduated from Samoana High School. After graduating from ASCC, in pursuit of higher education, she left home in 1987 for Washington State. Va’e met and married Robert Robertson and they had a daughter, Silivelia Leua Robertson.(Babygirl) The love of her life! After 20 years of calling Seattle home, she and her daughter moved back to her childhood home in 2007. It was then that Va’e discovered her True Calling. She found joy and passion in teaching for SPICC. ( Christian Private School)Va’e was dedicated to her job and loved her co-workers and students. She was an integral part of their staff and they will miss her very much. In 2009, Va’e met and married her Wonderful and Humble husband Petaia Tufugfale whom she loved with all her heart, and stayed devoted to until her passing. We are saddened that due to travel restrictions, he is unable to attend his wife’s service.
Our “GIRLS ONLY Summer vacations( with the exception of Buddy and Leki)were the highlight of our summers/years, and so it was she arrived with her daughter on 9/13. Within a week she contracted covid. After a month in the hospital, she sadly passed away due to complications from the virus.
