Suzanne I. Colombi (Hoffman), beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother passed away on September 11, 2020 in Milton, WA surrounded by family. Sue was born in Spokane, WA to Peggy (Shinn) Hoffman and Harold Hoffman on September 17, 1940. As the oldest of four children, Sue spent her childhood in the Spokane Valley and graduated from Otis Orchards High School in 1958.
Sue eventually settled in Renton, WA where she began a successful career in the banking industry. She started as a teller at Seafirst Bank, now Bank of America, and retired in 1990 as a Vice President.
Sue married Patrick Phelan in 1965. Although the marriage eventually ended, they raised three children together, Anna, Jeff and Stacie. Sue then met and married Richard (Dick) A Colombi in 1982. This union formed a blended family with Dick’s two children, Rick and Debbie. Sue and Dick remained married until Dick’s passing in July, 2019.
In retirement, Sue and Dick enjoyed a very active lifestyle, spending time between their two homes in Maple Valley, WA and Thousand Palms, CA. Traveling, golfing, hosting gatherings and spending time with friends and family.
Throughout all, Sue always showed her love of family and friends. She was a gracious hostess and welcomed all into her home. Her eyes lit up and her smile grew even more beautiful when her grandchildren were around.
Sue is pre-deceased by her husband, Dick, and by her three siblings Joe, Kathy and Hal. Sue is survived by her children, Anna (Mark), Jeff (Liesl), Stacie (Ed), Rick (Jana) and Debbie, nine grandchildren and six great grandchildren. We know she will continue to smile and watch over us from above.
Private family services to be held on September 28, 2020 at Greenwood Memorial Park and Funeral Home in Renton, WA.
