Monday, October 21st, 1957, to Arthur Lee and Linda Mae (Brooks) Shaw in the Renton Hospital in
Renton, WA. He was the 1st of 4 born to the newlyweds. He died of heart disease and renal failure on Monday, April 14th, 202,5 at Overlake Hospital in Bellevue, WA.
He had a strong will for life that carried him farther than most, especially focused in business and health matters. A man with a sarcastic sense of humor who also had an impressive photographic memory until the end. Known commonly as “Stan the Man” he often knew more about his body and treatments than the doctors treating him.
In May 1962, his parents settled in Newcastle, Washington, where he attended Hazelwood Elementary and McKnight Middle Schools. He would graduate from Hazen High School in 1976 being an athlete of the Cross Country, Track, and Baseball teams, along with Cross Country cycling.
In September of 1976, he then went on to study at Washington State University in Pullman, WA where he graduated in 1982 with bachelors’ degrees in Construction Management (BS) and Accounting and Finance (BA). In 2012 he earned an MBA in Project Management from Villanova University.
He started work after college, working on the nuclear power plant in Satsop, WA, and doing a short stint at Boeing. He was to eventually move to support projects in Virginia, Washington, North Carolina, Texas, California, and Florida. He was employed as a Senior Project Manager for Aecom and Skanska Construction working airport upgrade projects for major airlines, corporations, and cities. His pinnacle project was in 2008, managing the building of a new $32 million Headquarters and training facility for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
As a social individual, he had a countless number of friends and co-workers over a lifetime touching many lives. He was married and divorced 3 times in his life. He is preceded in death by his father Arthur and both paternal (Merle and Doris Shaw) and maternal (William and Etta Brooks) grandparents. He is survived by his mother Linda, his siblings Rick, Mike and Cheryl (Capps). He has 3 nephews and 3 nieces and countless cousins.
Graveside services will be held on Friday, April 25th, at Greenwood Memorial Park in Renton, WA. Please reach out to the family for more information and the times of services.
