Dr. Simon Yan was the sole son of David and Lisa Yan born August 13, 1973. He wed in 2005 and welcomed 3 beautiful children along the way.
He had a passion for the sciences and the arts. One of his proudest achievements was being a Research Associate for the Human Genome Project. His pursuits didn't stop there though, he eventually earned a Doctorate of Dental Surgery degree from UCSF. Not only was he academically gifted, he had a heart of gold with a kind and gentle soul. He was truly multi-talented and left a lasting impression with whomever he met along the way.
In 2022, he was diagnosed with brain cancer but that didn't dampen his fearless warrior spirit and positive attitude. Through his Facebook connections and posts, he inspired and motivated hundreds of others who are dealing with glioblastoma multiforme as well.
Even in his last weeks, he wanted to help those with GBM by drumming up donations for cancer research through his former employer.
He will be dearly missed in many ways by his family and friends.
