Ronald was born in Beaumont, Texas and lived in Seattle, Washington. He grew up in the Central District. Ron graduated from Garfield High School in 1969. He worked in Sheet Metal and retired from King County Roads. Ronald was also involved within the community as a basketball coach, mentor for The Big Brothers program, a Home Inspector, worked on cars and Umpired for Little League baseball.
Ronald was proceeded in death by his late mother Betty McDowell and his father Willie Benard.
Ron leaves behinds his only daughter Sheva Benard, five grandchildren Sharae Jenkins, Shayla Petty, William Petty, Shnia Petty and Roman Petty. One great-grandchild Jaiden Claudio. Nephew/son Emil Foster; along with five sisters Peggy Rodgers Lollie (Willie), Bobby McDowell-Carter (George), Willie Ann Foster, Venessa Jones (James) and Charlette Shaw-Benard; and a host of nieces and nephews.
