Bob Briggs was one of the finest and smartest Senior NCO's that I have ever had the privilege to work in 3-161 Inf (M). I met Bob when I was assigned to the Battalion as the S-4 (logistics). Bob was a superb leader. He was always thinking about how could the Support Platoon do a better and more efficient job. So, Bob asked me, if I could get him 7 radio's for all of his 5 ton trucks. I asked him sure, but why? Bob said that he could better control all of his trucks, if he could communicate with them directly. Brilliant idea. For the next 2 years Bob was responsible for completing ever mission, and never late. He was a fantastic leader. Ted Bradley, LTC retired. 

I met Bob and Mike when I was stationed in Mississippi and we were in BSA Troop 529.  Bob was always ready to assist anyone with anything.  He was a major asset to the troop and to the BSA program.  I will miss him and have great memories of campouts, games and Scouting functions.

Both Carolyn and I offer our heartfelt condolences to Sandy and the family.

I had two of my most memorable annual training events with Bob in 1983 and 1988. In 1983 the 3-161 support platoon was tasked with supporting the battalion using its 5 ton trucks to move required logistical materials from one end of the Yakima training center to the other. Bob and his soldiers  put over 1000 miles apiece on every truck and my jeep to make this a most successful operation. He was such a vital piece in making all this happen.

My memory is a little foggy when we teamed together once again in 1987-88 for a battalion operation at YTC. It was  3-161 in (M)  providing OPFOR for the 81st bde(M). Bob was my operation  sergeant and provided me with invaluable assistance and moral support to conduct war game planning and warfighter support.

Over the years we have run into each other during our national guard training. Each time it felt like a rekindling of our time past. I was shocked to see his passing and send my condolences to your family.  He will always be  in my memories.
