Well momma, what can i say, all i ever wanted in life was to be close too you, you wer my mommie, my best friend my heart. Life was happy and life was sad but you allways made it better when you wer around. Just your voice made life easier especialy when i felt i couldnt take it anymore, you gave me confidence and pride in everything i did, you told me to allway be strong follow my heart and not to live with regrettes. I prommise i will continue to be your mini-me because i dont know any outher way to be im proud of being like my mommie and i cherish the strength you raised me to have. You will be in the back of my mind in every decision i make. I will tell your newborn grandson about the day you dragged yourself out of your hospital bed, into a wheel chair and around the hospital just to see him hold him and say hello to your new grandson, miracle will never forget that beautifull woman she got up to run kiss and hug every morning, she still points at your picture every day i guess still wishing she could give you a kiss and get her daily love. you wer and will allways be my everything. Im still right there by your side mommie and i know youll allways be beside me,"when your not partying with Jimmie(lol)" just like when i was a kid. My dear little Deanie,

You do know how much you are missed, don't you?  Robert and your whole family are devastated that you are gone, but they are comforted because you are now out of pain.  Due to your illness the last couple of years, I didn't get to be with you as much as I would have liked.  I hope you are aware of how much I cared and how I often I thought of you.

Of all my friends, Deanie, you touched my heart the deepest.  You had a great personality, and everyone was drawn to you.  You were a good listener, but you shared your secrets with only a select few.  You were honest and had no problem telling people exactly how you felt, but rarely did anyone take offense.  I loved how you stood up for yourself.  People respected you for it.

You were extremely intelligent and oh so witty.  We had so much fun together and shared lots of laughter.  You had a big heart and were compassionate, encouraging, understanding, and just plain old sweet.  You were also fiercely loyal to your family and friends.  If you were needed, you would drop everything and be there.  What more could anyone ask for in a friend?  I loved you dearly.

I remember you as a spitfire, dynamo, and a hot little number.  When I first met you, you were single and would tell me about going to dances and dancing all night long, never sitting out a song.  Men flocked around you…this foxy, good-looking woman with a great big smile who didn't have a care in the world when she was on the dance floor.
  
You had been though a lot in your life.  Although I don't profess to know but a fraction of the trials and tribulations you endured, I know enough to realize it would have broken a lesser person.  But nothing was going to break your spirit.  You found the courage to pick yourself up and move on.  I watched as you worked very hard to make a wonderful life for yourself and applauded each success.  You bought your own home and made it cozy for you and your kitties.  You looked so good driving around in that snazzy Mustang.  But something was missing in your life until the day you found Robert, and he fell completely in love with you and you with him.  I was so happy for you both.
 
Deanie, thank you for being my friend, my sounding board, and my pal.  Thanks for listening to me and giving me advice in that direct, no-nonsense way of yours.  You had a way of saying just enough to lead me to make the right choice, all the while allowing me to make the final decision on my course of action.  What wonderfully, good, sensible advice you had to offer!
  
There is a special place in my heart for you, Deanie.  I will always cherish our friendship and treasure the memories of the times we had together.  I know your family came first in your heart…your husband, sisters, mother, daughters, son, grand-children, great-grandchild, and extended family of old friends, but I appreciate you letting me share a tiny bit of the love you had to give.  I am a better person for having known you.  I will miss you so much.

My heart is heavy and I am drenched in saddness that you have left this plateau of existence.  However, I know you are now part of the universe, free from pain and stirring up stuff whereever your spirit is now.
You were such a lovely lovely person with a great heart and spirit. You were a light shining in the dark that would illuminate everything and everyone in your presence.
The best gift you gave me was laughter.  You always made me laugh.  Loved your sense of humor, and your attitude.  Loved you doing that black lady thing with your head and neck.  Always put me on the floor.  You were my "little bit". But you were not little....you were a giant of a person.
I will miss you when I journey back to Seattle. I know Robert will miss you so very very much.  But I also know that you will be hanging around keeping him company on lonely nights by enveloping him with your spirit and giving him strength.
You were a wonderful person and you put a smile on the face of the universe.

Deeeeeennneeeeeeeeeee....  You were love during life and I'll remember you with love now that you've passed.  Ummm...  you were also a feisty one.  Hope you continue on with that behind God's curtain.

You were a set of photos and a description on a web site, and I sent you a wink.  You sent back an email and said “You DO realize that I’m Black, don’t you?”, and we always chuckled about that.  We first met on Labor Day weekend in 2005, and you were a complete and wonderful surprise.  We sat on the deck and drank beers and smoked cigarettes and talked until almost midnight.  I fell In Love with you that day, Nadine.  We talked and emailed, shared our secrets and our fears, pushed each other away and pulled each other back again.  One day you suggested that, “just for fun”, we go look at rings, and you walked out of the store with an engagement ring on your finger (“sparkly, shiny… priiiiitty”).  The next time the families gathered for a celebration (a birthday party at Outback?), I asked your Mama for permission to marry you ~ it was so loud in the restaurant that I had to ask her twice.  On December 28, 2006 we became Mrs. and Mr., Nadine and Robert, together.  Too bad your kitties and my kitties never could understand that idea of “together”.  We never fought, we always shared what we had and what we felt with each other, and you were always right.  I loved doing anything and everything for you, Nadine ~ it was what I was meant to do.

Of all the experiences and feelings that I have had in my 60 years of life, nothing else compares to the warmth, safety and sense of completeness that I felt living in your huge, mushy heart, Nadine ~ I adored you completely and loved being your husband.  I love you and miss you, Punkin ~ I hope you are finally warm and peaceful.  Thank you for taking such good care of me!

You were a daisy amongst the flowers.  A rare jewel.  You will be deeply missed.  I love you auntie!
