July 1, 1950 ------ April 2, 2021
Michael Wahl, age 70, of Renton, WA, went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on April 2, 2021 after a short battle with Covid19. Michael was preceded in death by his father Arnold Wahl and his two brothers James and Steven Wahl. Surviving family members include his wife Susan (Hale) Wahl, his mother Marjorie (MacLeod) Hower, brother Stanley Wahl, son Andrew Heth, daughter-in-law Liz Heth, and grandchildren Noah and Rebecca Heth.
Michael was born at Whidbey Island Naval Station along with his twin brother Steven to the proud parents Arnold (Red) and Marjorie (Marge) Wahl. He had the typical military childhood with many moves including Hawaii, California, Philippines and several other places in the United States. They eventually settled in Washington and then Michael enlisted in the Army and was sent to Okinawa where he was a Dental Assistant.
After an Honorable Discharge from the Army, Michael returned to Washington and eventually got married and had a baby boy Andrew Michael. Unfortunately, that marriage did not last. After about five years, Michael met and married Susan Hale and they were married for 33 years.
After almost dying in 2011 from the swine flu/pneumonia, he was forced to retire from his job with APS, Inc. where he located underground utilities. He got a volunteer job at the Seattle VA Hospital driving a shuttle bus. Later he did the same for Valley Medical Center in Renton. He loved doing that because he was meeting new people and offering all he could do to support them.
Michael’s passion was helping other people. He would do anything for anyone if he could. He was always out and about in the neighborhood socializing and helping anyway he could.
He also loved his dog and walking her. He loved to hike, taking care of our big yard doing all kinds of yardwork, reading and watching oldies but goodies on TV.
Michael will be deeply missed by family, friends, and all who knew him because of his love and his willingness to help everyone…he exemplified the character of Jesus in that way.
Michael’s twin brother passed away 3 years ago and we had not spread his ashes yet. Now we will spread Michael and Steven’s ashes together. Born together; back to the earth together.
The Memorial Service will be held on April 24 at 1pm at International Christian Center, 17418 108th Ave SE, Renton WA 98055 where flowers, donations and condolences may be offered.
Live Streaming and Zoom will be available for those unable to attend.
