Marshall was a good friend. We worked together for about 10 years and we found many common interests. At work he was a highly respected authority on Aviation support issues and was even given special honors by the Aviation Industry for his many contributions. He provided so much knowledge and insight not only at work but also on his many interests outside of work. It was a privilege to know him and I’ll miss him.

Many fond memories at the conferences with Marshall and Rhea!  
I am so glad we got together in Cocoa Beach when we all happened to be there at the same time in March 2019!

  Marshal was my oldest and closest friend.  We became acquainted in the spring of plebe year, and by youngster year, we were buds.  During our Academy days we had numerous adventures of varying success.   It was in Pensacola that I coined his nickname; Cotton after his story of a T-34 instructor's query about his name.  
  After his stint in the Navy, we met up again in Portland.  His three boys and my two became playmates.  We hunted together and trained our sons in the shooting sports.  We spent many an hour cruising the back country in my old Land Cruiser.  
  Upon his moving to Seattle, our visits became rare, but email and phone calls kept us in touch.  We shared a love of firearms and had many a discussion on the merits of this or that.  Cotton loved to ask a question then, even if there was no doubt of clarity, would aggressively debate the issue.
  Cotton had a very dry sense of humor, and me, being a smart ass, expended a great deal of effort to get a chuckle out of him.  We both thoroughly enjoyed ribbing the other.  I am really going to miss that.  Although a bit cranky on the outside, Cotton would give you the shirt off his back to help.
  He shall forever remain in my heart and mind, rest in peace old friend.

As a rugby-playing member of 21st Company, my memory of Marshall is him standing with his hands on his hips, staring down the opposition, dripping sweat and dirt. Fair Winds and Following Winds my friend. Semper Fidelis.

I lived close to him in 24th Company at USNA. Marshall had the kind of great personality that you couldn’t forget, a great outgoing guy. And about 20 years after graduation we ran across each other at Narita Airport in Tokyo. He was on the down escalator, and I was headed up. But we recognized each other immediately as we passed, then we did a u-turn and stopped to exchange greetings. It was the kind of event that you don’t forget. I always thought of him as bigger than life. Rest in peace Marshall.

Marshall was my friend and first roomie at the Naval Academy.  I will never forget the day we met.  It was comical and we laughed about it many times.  He was always willing to help anyone who might need it.  We played football together for 3 years and went on may YP trips and other excursions to Philly.  Many times he tried to set me up with a date and for some reason and they never seemed to take to me.  He kept trying though, not one to be deterred.   I was honored to be Best Man at his and Rea's wedding in Portland.  Though separated by service and years apart, we remained close.  I send his family my condolences.  Marshall will be remembered by many because those memories will live on.  Enjoy them and reflect on them..I do.
