Born January 21, 1922 in New Orleans, Louisiana passed away peacefully April 27, 2010 surrounded by the love of family, friends and staff at Wesley Homes Health Center in Des Moines, Washington.
In 1940, Mom married her high school sweetheart, Joseph J. Frank. During their sixty-three years of marriage they created a close, loving family that included three children: Joseph (Georgia), Rudy (Mazola), and Lois; ten grandchildren: Reiko, Bryan, Matthew, Randall, Kenneth, Kori, Darrin, Ymee, Jolene, Rudolph and fourteen great grandchildren.
Mom and dad married in New Orleans and moved to Seattle after World War II. They started married life in project housing and although financially poor they managed to provide quality schooling for all three children. Education was a high priority in the Frank household. When Mom’s last child was of school age, she started her career at King County Hospital (Harborview) working in its kitchen. By the time she retired, Mom was the head cook, overseeing the meals for patients and staff.
Mom was the heart of our family and the embodiment of unconditional love, which shaped our lives from childhood and continues to influence the lives of her grandchildren.
Mom’s children were at her bedside during the final days of her life, amusing her with family memories and revealing childhood secrets that we finally figured she must have known all along.
Mom is preceded in death by parents Arthur and Deborah Monette, siblings Eldridge, Arthur, Deborah, and Kathazda. Her surviving brother Roy and sister-in-law Myrtle were not only family but her constant friends.
A visitation will be held from 9-10:30am on Monday, May 3rd followed by a funeral mass at 10:30am at St. Anthony’s Catholic Parish in Renton, after which a committal service will be held at Greenwood Memorial Park. www.MEM.com
