Leola was born in Chaseley North Dakota to Ivan and Lillian Lester. The family moved to Vashon Island Washington when Leola was 6 years. She attended school on Vashon and graduated from Vashon High School in 1958. While attending high school she served as a Life Guard at the beach on Puget Sound. Leola married Orvis Harper in 1959.
Leola is survived by her husband, Orvis, one sister Lois, five children Verna, Renee, Sherie, Paul and Jeffrey. She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters June and Vera, two brothers Dallas and Marvin, two great grandchildren, Bethany and Edward.
Leola was very active in her church, leading Children’s Church, Sunday School and working with the youth. She had a very sharp mind even memorizing, I and II Timothy entirely.
Services will be at Greenwood Memorial Park Renton, Washington Saturday October 21, 2023 at 12:00 Noon
