Katie P. Moore was born on June 3, 1921, to Leopoldo Padilla and Cecelia Bolé on their family ranch in Willard, New Mexico. Katie married Billie J. Moore on August 21, 1942. Together they had four children, Loretta, William, Katherine and Sheila. Katie was a school teacher, business owner and minister during her working years. She was an extraordinary piano player and musician, writing countless worship songs that many of us will treasure for years to come.
Her home was always a safe place to land, filled with the unconditional love and peace of Jesus. Many were the times that her children and grandchildren came to seek refuge and support through life’s trials. She was always there.
Her life was a testament to her enduring faith and love for Jesus Christ. Despite many hardships, including the tragic loss of two of her daughters, Katie held on to the Word of God through every affliction. Even as she was weak and approaching death, she asked for help to raise her hands so that she might praise the Lord once more. She leaves a legacy of faith, prayer, steadfastness and love that will never be forgotten.
