She met the love of her life, Harry Holmes when she was 16 years old. They were both working on farms when they met, and they married on August 27, 1951. Shortly after they were married, they moved to Seattle. All three of their children were born there.
Jane was a full-time homemaker and mom. She was very social and enjoyed her friends and acquaintances wherever she lived. Everyone who met her loved her cheerful attitude and infectious laughter. We can’t even count the times we were told how much she was loved. Mom enjoyed westerns, country music, singing, seafood, and the color purple. She loved animals, especially wolves and eagles. One of mom’s biggest wishes was to see Alaska and we were able to grant her that wish for her 80th birthday. It was a trip of a lifetime. She also made the best pies and chocolate chip cookies. Unbeknownst to us, she had quite a collection of coins and lots of jewelry. Mom always liked to look her best.
Jane passed away at the age of 89 after a brief illness on October 5, 2022. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry, her four siblings, and her great-grandson, Brayden Edgar. She is survived by her three children, Tracey (Dennis), Craig (Linda), and Jody. She leaves behind 6 grandchildren, Jaime Edgar, Ryan Schrag, Casie Holmes, Tarah Pettersen, Zane Holmes, and Lexie Holmes, and 7 great-grandchildren.
She will be greatly missed by all, but we are comforted by the fact that she is with our Dad and Jesus.
