A lifelong resident of the Seattle area, George Kipper, was born on June 22, 1943 to George and Margaret Kipper. He went home to the Lord on August 25, 2016. He is survived by his wife, Susan; son, Michael Kipper (Susan); daughter, Deborah Culver (Joseph); stepdaughter Tracy Wilson (Andrew); grandchildren Jonathan and Evelyn Kipper, Faith and Kaiana Culver, and Kellen Wilson.
George’s lifelong faith in the Lord was reflected in his life and family. He spent the last two decades attending Kent Covenant Church where he served the church on the building committee for the new church expansions and spearheaded a fundraiser for an Argentinian orphanage.
From a very young age George had a love of the water that lasted throughout his life. He loved cruising the Puget Sound on various boats until he traded them for a second home on San Juan Island. He loved flying his own plane and learning all he was able to about airplanes. He also immensely enjoyed photography, from developing his own photos at one time and then moving into digital photography.
He graduated from Franklin High School and then Washington State University in Architectural Engineering. In 1970, George went to work with his dad at Kipper & Sons Engineers, where he designed, fabricated, and erected hogged fuel boilers. In 1999 he was joined by his son until 2009 when he retired.
George spent 21 years with his beloved wife Susan. They enjoyed traveling to a variety of places around the United States. They also had the pleasure of traveling abroad to New Zealand, Mexico, Canada, Australia, and Greece.
George loved his family and supported them throughout their lives. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
