He served in the Massachusetts Nat'l Guard 1947-1950 and the US Airforce 1950-1954. Ed married the love of his life, Rose, in 1953 in Bellefontaine, Ohio. Upon his honorable discharge from the Air Force, Ed and Rose went to CA where Ed attended College and their son and daughter were born. He worked as a contract engineer, mainly in the aircraft industry.
Ed and Rose were happily married for 55 years. He is survived by his son Ed II, daughter-in-law Patty, three grandchildren, Daniel Donovan, Kathleen Donovan and Rose Ann Seidel, all of whom he loved dearly and was very proud.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife Rose and loving daughter Teresa Seidel. Also preceded in death by brothers Dan, Russell, and P. Daniel Donovan, Sister Doris Scally a half-sister KaJeamme Grtzlaff. He is survived by Brother Raymond, half-sister Kay Dowling (Jerry), half-brothers Walter, William and Dennis Donovan. He is also survived by sister-in-law P B Donovan and her family from the Boston area.
Ed lived in the May Valley area (Coalfield) for 46 years where he and Rose owned and operated the Coalfield Grocery from 1966-1975.
Ed was a wonderful husband, amazing father, and the best grandfather our children could ask for. We love you and will miss you terribly.
The family would like to thank Evergreen Hospice, and Joe, our hero, for all your care and compassion. We could not have made it through without you.
Services will be November 6, 2012 at Greenwood Memorial Park in Renton, WA at 11:00 AM
